We have endevoured to establish a number of activities at Harlem Stonegate which tie into the natural beauty of the property and surrounding area. Some of these activities are listed below. We also curate hikes, bike trips, boating trips, dining outings, trips to local attractions, and fitness and wellness programs for guests wanting a more organized experience.
A "Dark Sky" Location - Our quiet rural setting, free from light and other pollution, means that the night sky is beautifully clear and full of stars. We can arrange for you to sit out in a beautiful comfortable cozy location with hay bales, blankets, Muskoka chairs, telescope, drinks, etc. with which to view the pageant of the star-filled night sky. You may even hear the coyotes calling out their own contribution.
Seasonal Agricultural Activities - During maple syrup season in the spring, gardening season in the summer, and apple harvesting and preserving in the fall, lots of opportunities exist for guests to learn about typical country activities. These learning experiences have often been found to be extremely rewarding by many people seeking to enrich their travel and cultural experiences.
Camping and Group Team-building Opportunities - As part of a Leadership Program and tying into a Corporate and Personal Coaching practice, we can outfit groups of up to 15 with the highest quality warm sleeping bags, tents, and other necessary equipment for an excellent group camping experience in our sugar bush in any season. Wilderness and outdoor training as well as self reliance, team-building, and resilience instruction can also be made available to private, corporate, and selected small advanced student groups.
Outdoor Winter Activities - In addition to winter camping, the property is great for many other winter activities such as skiing, snowshoeing, skating and hiking. There are nearby trails for heartier enthusiasts and we can outfit small groups of B&B guests with snowshoes, but bring your own skis. Guests who wished to stay for a few days and partake of a winter fitness program could warm up by the wood-stove in our cozy sunroom each evening upon their return from their excursions.
Wellness and Fitness - We believe our tranquil sugar bush, waving hayfields, fascinating wetlands and bucolic local roads provide a perfect and unique backdrop for guests to unwind, relax, re-balance, refresh, and re-calibrate. To connect with and enjoy those timeless natural features, we have established a number of inspiring and restorative wellness and fitness activities (and programs) for guests. Walks, hikes and bike rides can be arranged for guests or guests can feel free to walk at their leisure and explore (weather permitting and observing safety rules) throughout the hayfields and trails in the hardwood bush. A beautiful screened and covered yoga and exercise pavilion at the back of the property, at the edge of the wetlands, is available daily for guests to reserve.
We have also put in place a fitness and wellness program for guests looking to pursue improvements in their health and fitness. Guests wishing to pursue this program can have structured daily fitness and wellness activities and structured diets.

For B&B guests wishing to head out on day trips in the area, a picnic lunch and curated trip plan could be arranged. Again, as part of our fitness package, guests could include cycling day trips as a daily training component.
